BUILDING PATHWAYS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF CREATIVES
The AMCK Legacy Foundation was founded by Aicha Mckenzie to champion the mental health and wellbeing of commercial dancers, a community that too often falls through the gaps of care.
These artists are not in the theatre every day, nor working consistently in a studio with a company; instead, they move from gig to gig , navigating an unpredictable and high-pressure landscape. As a result, commercial dancers frequently sit outside the patronage of the traditional arts umbrella, leaving a troubling lack of support for talent we know firsthand both deserves and urgently needs it.
Recognising these gaps, The AMCK Legacy Foundation is committed to providing meaningful resources, advocacy, and tailored support for the mental resilience of this vital yet vulnerable community. Through grants, mentorship, training, and wellbeing initiatives, we want to support talent who are currently unsupported. Whether it’s a commercial dancer from a marginalised background struggling to break into the industry, or a top tier performer on a world tour, we are a foundation dedicated to mental health and access within this tough industry, enabling ALL talent to fully thrive.
CONTINUING THE LEGACY
AMCK Legacy Foundation is not just a celebration of two decades of artistry and impact - it marks the beginning of a new chapter.
Through our charity partnerships, mentorship, and grants, we are building sustainable pathways for the next generation of artists to thrive - ensuring that the spirit of AMCK continues to inspire long after the music stops.
For the Talent. For the Culture. For the Future.
We invite our community, collaborators, and supporters to join us in this commitment. Together, we can continue to shape culture, champion diversity, and create space for every voice to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
